Villa Monastero
The name, Villa Monastero, derives from the original existence in place of an ancient convent of Cistercian nuns (1208) dedicated to Santa Maria Maddalena.
Currently the villa Monastero is owned by the Province of Lecco, who runs through the institution Villa Monastero instrumental entity of the same Province. In the summer, but not only, there are many international nuclear activities conferences.
Villa Cipressi
The Villa Cipressi bordering Villa Monastero is together with the Villa Monastero another center for studies, conferences and conventions of Varenna .
